Welcome
Hey there,
I’m Bridgette and this is a little about myself.
I think my creative career started at age 4 when I drew lipstick all over my walls in an emotional charged mixed media piece titled, “I am mad.” I was thrilled with the final piece. My parents, not so much.
Ever since then, I’ve been seeing where my lifelong love of creativity will take me.
From painting and writing to the hospitality industry, I’ve been exploring all ways creativity takes form and where it can take us. I love the idea that anything is possible and that we’re filled with endless potential to create.
My path has led me to create a world of kindness called This Feels Nice (TFN). It started as a hand-painted inspirational project and has since evolved to be an entire universe of optimism, inhabited by a family of characters (Tiny Hope, Lil Beb, Grumble, Tulip, and Sunny the Sunflower). They each embody the voices of empathy and kindness we all wish we could be for ourselves and that we all deserve.
TFN recently launched its first product, an astrology baby swaddle, bringing its universe of kindness off of the world wide web and into the real world. It’s pattern was hand-drafted, drawn, and painted by me and constructed by a women-owned factory that used our product to train women how to sew. Thoughtful and intentional making is core to creating for me, and to this day (7 years since starting TFN), I still hand-paint every single image.
In addition to This Feels Nice, I also wrote and illustrated my debut children’s book, “Norman and the Nom Nom Factory”, which was published by Astra Young Readers in 2018. In 2020, it was read by Julie Andrews on her podcast Julie’s Library. You can listen to it here (for free!).
Outside of painting and writing, I’ve also been exploring creativity in the NYC hospitality industry and until recently was the only female partner in a NYC based restaurant group.
This all started when I was the Dreamweaver at Eleven Madison Park, where I created on-demand, bespoke art experiences and objects for guests at the restaurant. From one-of-a kind immersive experiences (like recreating an 80’s themed prom) to a life-size paper replica of a samurai helmet, if you can dream it…I would make it. After two years as the Dreamweaver, I would join Eleven Madison Park’s headquarter’s group, Make it Nice, as a member of the brand team doing all things partnership, social media, and more.
Today, I call Brooklyn home and am usually not far from a hot glue gun and rhinestones.
